How runners opt in

Documentation of the Finish Line Engravers SMS opt-in experience — the registration flow, the consent language shown at the point of sign-up, and the one message runners receive.

The opt-in flow, step by step

01

Runner scans the event QR code

At the event venue, Finish Line Engravers displays a QR code at the registration table. Scanning it opens our registration form at register.finishlineengravers.com in the runner's own browser.

02

Runner enters their own information

The runner types their name, finish time, and mobile phone number themselves. Directly beneath the phone field — at the point of opt-in — the form displays this disclosure:

"By submitting, you agree to receive a one-time text with your medal QR code. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out." — followed by links to the Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.

03

One transactional message — that's all

Submitting the form triggers a single text containing the runner's registration ID and QR pass link. Message frequency: one (1) message per registration. No marketing, promotional, or recurring messages. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
